Welcome to Sporting Club Albion
Sporting Club Albion is West Bromwich Albion’s official representative club for all sports outside of the Baggies’ professional football department and Academy.
Run by The Albion Foundation, Sporting Club Albion was founded following the amalgamation of the successful West Bromwich Albion Women’s Football Club and the West Bromwich Albion Disability Sports Club.
The set-up is believed to be the first of its kind in this country, and will be made up of various sports.
All Sporting Club Albion athletes underline their strong links to the Football Club by wearing the famous blue-and-white-stripes when competing in regional, national and possibly international competitions.
Based at The Albion Foundation’s Tom Silk Site, in Halfords Lane, Sporting Club Albion is run as an amateur, grass roots club but with the support of a team of professionals from within the Foundation’s Sports Development unit.
It has received support and investment from the Football Club and will also seek partners within the public and private sectors.
Crucially, Sporting Club Albion’s specialist sports are underpinned by Albion Foundation development projects, which provides individuals with the opportunity to participate in their respective sports – regardless of ability.
The Sporting Club Albion coaches focus on recruiting talented boys, girls, men and women from the local community to give them an opportunity to fulfill their sporting potential.
Sporting Club Albion already has plans to branch out into other sports – if the necessary funding is forthcoming.
